Sudeten House with cross room in Stary Gierałtów

Stary Gierałtów

The Sudeten House with cross room in Stary Gierałtów (Alt Gersdorf) is a unique example of regional architecture that has been preserved in its original location. It is characterised by the unique shape of an arcade with a gable and a gallery on the first floor, the so-called "summer parlour" or "Frankenzimmer". It is probably the only preserved object of this type in Kłodzko Valley and one of the oldest buildings in the area. It is estimated that it may have been built in 1746, which means that it is now over 250 years old. In many studies it is considered a characteristic building type for the region and can also serve as an inspiration for newly designed houses. The 1st prize 2020
