“Wild Roses” in Janice

Janice

"Wild Roses" in Janice/Johnsdorf is a centuries-old farm that originally consisted of a residential house and a barn. During the renovation, the visual separation between the two former functional spaces, i.e. the barn with its stone and brick façade and the plastered residential part, was restored. All preserved historical elements were retained and materials from the demolition were used in the restoration, including roof tiles, beams, floorboards and local raw materials such as stones and clay. The example of the "Wild Roses" shows an exemplary approach to old simple farmhouses, of which there are many in the Lower Silesian landscape, but which are rarely carefully renovated.
